Wind Power and Natural Gas

Wind? Why is wind powered energy on a website about new technology for transportation? The reason why is because wind powered energy is a real solution to part of our problem. It's not just being promoted by hippies and idealistic weirdoes.

In the US we import $700 billion of foreign oil per year! That's a lot of money flowing out of our country and into the hands of people who don't always care about us and some of whom are our downright enemies.

22% of the fuel used for power generation in this country, the power used to create electricity for our homes and businesses, comes from natural gas. Instead of using natural gas, an abundant US natural resource, to create electricity we could be using it instead to power our cars (see natural gas for cars).

If we could free up all this natural gas to be used to run cars, trucks and buses, etc, that would replace $300 billion dollars that now goes for foreign oil. We would be buying $300 billion of natural gas instead. We would keep that $300 billion in the US and our people and our economy would greatly benefit from this.

How do we replace that natural gas to make electrical power? We do it through massive wind farms. Listen to T. Boone Pickens explain in this video below.

If you think this is too much of a pie-in-the-sky idea. Watch this video (below) about the town of Sweetwater, Texas that has been transformed by the people and farmers buying into the wind power concept and putting it into action.
